A child may be admitted to four year-old kindergarten in the District if four (4) years old on or before September 1 in the year of the school entrance. A child may be admitted to five year-old kindergarten if five (5) years old on or before September 1. Exceptions may be allowed per Administrative Rule 421. A child may be admitted to 1st grade if six (6) years old on or before September 1. such admission shall be subject to proof of age.
