The Board hereby establishes its policy of student residency requirements.

Students who attend District schools shall be residents of the District with the exception of students who are approved for acceptance under the state regulated Open Enrollment/Tuition Assistance Program.

Therefore, when a student’s parents/guardians move from the district, arrangements will be made immediately by this District to assist in the enrollment of the student in the new school district.

Transportation of a non-resident student to and from school is the responsibility of the parent/guardian unless specified by state statute.

The District Administrator shall carefully consider each request of Parents/Guardians who live outside the district and wish to have their child(ren) attend school in the District. Such requests shall comply with State Statutes and be presented to the Board for acceptance or denial based upon the District Administrator’s recommendations.

Parents/Guardians who live outside the district who have been granted the privilege of their child(ren) attending school in the District shall pay tuition for each student as determined by state law and District policy. Students may not attend if the tuition is not paid when due.

Parents/Guardians who live outside the district and whose child(ren) attend school in the District shall lose that privilege if their child(ren) become disruptive of the educational process as determined by the District Administrator.
